Dr. Jennifer Himmelstein facilitates the integration of collaboration, learning & adaptation (CLA) strategies and practices across ACDI/VOCA. Jennifer provides mentorship to other monitoring & evaluation headquarters staff in terms of quality assurance and oversees monitoring, evaluation & learning teams in a portfolio of projects. She is a leader of the CLA and MERL communities of practices, provides capacity-building support in advanced analytics and specialized research methodologies, and collaborates with technical staff and projects in the development of white papers & knowledge management pieces around ACDI/VOCA’s innovations and impacts. Before joining ACDI/VOCA in 2015, Jennifer was the Assistant Director of the USAID-funded Sustainable Agriculture & Natural Resource Management Innovation Lab at Virginia Tech. She has held various positions at five government agencies including USAID, USDA, the EPA, FERC, and the National Science Foundation. She also worked in the AfPak division at Chemonics International. Jennifer has BS in environmental science and policy and a Ph.D. in plant sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.
