Technical Training for Youth Employment

Fundación ACDI/VOCA Latin America (FAVLA) is partnering with the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá and Fundación Texmodas to close human capital gaps in Bogotá and Medellín. The partnership aims to create productive inclusion and income generation opportunities for youth between the ages of 18 and 28. By implementing comprehensive job training and psychosocial support, the program will enhance youths’ socioemotional skills for employment and provide tailored technical training within the Texmodas value chain.

Project Objectives

  • Create economic opportunities for 482 youth in Bogotá and Medellín through a technical job training process.
  • Provide training for youth to develop their skills in assertive communication, customer service, teamwork, socioemotional intelligence, and results-oriented attitudes. 

Project Activities and Approaches

  • Implement the DecidoSer program to build skills for Texmodas employees of vulnerable socioeconomic backgrounds who may be low-income, uninsured, or members of marginalized minority ethnic groups.
  • Implement the Inclusive Employment Mode to train participants in specific skills, values, and benefits for the company.
  • Secure employment for participating youth among more than 136 companies.
  • Achieve a 4.7 percent increase in the employment indicator under the Texmodas SAS Corporate Social Responsibility program within a year.
  • Support the Texmodas’ leadership in creating 10 rules containing commitments to becoming an agent of change.
