Lucas Valente da Costa is an associate director who manages two Associate Awards under the Feed the Future Kenya Leader with Associates portfolio led by ACDI/VOCA. Prior to this role, Lucas supported ACDI/VOCA projects in Burkina Faso, Paraguay, and Bangladesh. Before joining ACDI/VOCA in 2016, he cofounded an association in Brazil to ensure representation of youth groups at international conferences. He also worked for the Consulate of Canada in São Paulo. Lucas holds dual master’s degrees in international affairs from Columbia University and the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) as well as a BA in international relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. Lucas received Presidential Awards from ACDI/VOCA in 2017 and 2018. He is fluent in Portuguese, French, Spanish, and English and holds a diploma in advanced French language from France’s Ministry of Education.
