Washington, D.C., June 21, 2024 – ACDI/VOCA has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2024 honor by The Washington Post. In its first year vying for the award, ACDI/VOCA ranked seventh out of the 100 companies named to the list in the mid-size category (150-499 employees)!

According to the Post, “To get on this list is no small feat. Over 35 percent of a company workforce must have answered 24 questions in an annual survey …The answers are the data that percolate into a ranking.” The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, values, diversity, and inclusion, just to name a few.

A whopping 80 percent of the staff of ACDI/VOCA’s Washington, D.C.-based Home Office completed the survey, providing input that helped the organization rank in the top 1 percent of regional companies within the not-for-profit space for providing an inclusive environment for all employees and for supporting work-life flexibility. The organization also scored in the top 2 percent within the not-for-profit space for standing by strong values. Perhaps the most ringing endorsement is that 98 percent of employees completing the survey would highly recommend working at ACDI/VOCA.

In addition to the organizational honor, ACDI/VOCA President and CEO Sylvia Megret received the Leadership Award for midsize companies in the region.

“I appreciate and am grateful for the recognition,” Megret said. “But what is crucial and central to that award for me is the role the staff at ACDI/VOCA and our teams all around the world play in implementing the vision set out for the organization by leadership. I hope everyone who works at ACDI/VOCA will take credit for this award, because they are responsible for taking the actions and modeling the behaviors that help us achieve that vision.”
