ACDI/VOCA is pleased to announce USAID has selected ACDI/VOCA to lead the Cooperative Development Program (CDP) in Guinea and the Philippines. This five-year program, which will operate from 2021 to 2026, will change the behaviors of farmer cooperative members, leading to a more competitive and inclusive market system and greater economic opportunity and wellbeing. To support this effort, ACDI/VOCA will leverage its expertise in assisting cooperatives to adopt management strategies and tools that help them become commercially competitive, inclusive, and resilient.
In Guinea, CDP will expand upon the Siguiri Agricultural Development Activity, a two-year activity funded by USAID and implemented by ACDI/VOCA from 2019 to 2022. The new activity will increase economic opportunities, strengthen local market actors’ ability to promote economic growth, and increase youth and women’s entrepreneurship.
In the Philippines, CDP will expand market-driven growth, promote private sector-led development, enhance gender and social inclusion, and strengthen civil society. The activity will build upon the Generating Rural Opportunities by Working with Cooperatives (GROW-Coop) Project, a two-and-a-half-year activity funded by USAID.
