ACDI/VOCA is pleased to announce USAID/Bangladesh has selected ACDI/VOCA to lead the Feed the Future Bangladesh Livestock and Nutrition Activity. This new Activity is the follow-on to the Feed the Future Bangladesh Livestock Production for Improved Nutrition Activity implemented by ACDI/VOCA from 2015 to 2021.
The Livestock and Nutrition Activity will sustainably increase livestock productivity, marketability, and consumption of livestock products for improved nutrition and incomes for one million livestock producing households and firms in the 23 target districts in Bangladesh’s Zone of Influence and Zone of Resilience. To achieve this level of scale and ambitious results, ACDI/VOCA will use an integrated community-based development and inclusive market systems approach and will co-create solutions with communities and public and private sector actors, effectively leveraging their resources, technologies, and expertise.
The consortium includes mPower Social Enterprises as local ICT sub-recipient and the Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture at Texas A&M and the Feed the Future Food Safety Lab at Purdue University as resource partners.
