New Project Won—Sierra Leone: Promoting Agriculture, Governance and Environment
ACDI/VOCA has won a $13.24 million, USAID-funded Promoting Agriculture, Governance and Environment (PAGE) program. The four-year initiative, which is being implemented by a consortium of partners led by ACDI/VOCA and including ARD, Inc. and World Vision, will revitalize Sierra Leone’s rural economy and empower marginalized women, youth and smallholder farmers.
PAGE will use economic growth activities as entry points to promote and reinforce democratic local governance. It will
- stimulate equitable economic growth and promote sustainable natural resource management
- strengthen the accountability of district councils and chiefdoms
- build capacity for decentralization and civic participation
